Luca flies to Asia and Oceania
After touring in Greece, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria, United States, Canada, Lithuania and Latvia, Italian jazz violinist Luca Ciarla adds Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan to his extraordinary 2016 agenda. From October 6 to 29 he will be touring with various projects, from his quartet with Carmine Ioanna on accordion, Maurizio Perrone on bass and Francesco Savoretti on percussions, to his extraordinary solo programs dedicated to J. S. Bach or the Italian and Mediterranean traditions. The tour begins with two concerts in Sakata and Yuza presented in traditional Japanese homes, set as small auditorium. It will be Luca's first performances in a real Japanese itanoma! In the following days concerts at the Abeno Rock Town in Osaka and at the Garaman Hall in Okinawa, one of the most beautiful islands in Japan. On October 12 Luca returns to the Foundry 616 in Sydney, a "must" venue for good music in Australia. The next day he will perform "Bach into Myself" at the beautiful Uniting Church in Adamstown (Newcastle) while on the 15th he will join singer Carolina Moon and guitarist Nigel Gavin at the Auckland Jazz Festival. On the 16th and the 17th he will present a concert and a workshop at the Nelson Arts Festival where several artists will be introduced to the audience with a Mihi, a traditional Maori greeting. Following three concerts at the Queenstown Jazz Festival in the south of New Zealand. The tour ends at the New Narratives film Festival in Taipei where he will be joined by saxophonist Hsieh Min-yen for a fascinating live sound track performance of the film Black & White by Taiwanese artist Deng Nan-guang. The tour is produced by Violipiano in collaboration with Keita Yano Mizutari, the Italian Institute of Culture of Osaka, the Italian Institute of Culture in Sydney, the Embassy of Italy in Wellington and the IETCPO (Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office) in Taipei.
